This ISDT 1979 JAWA 402 epitomizes the late 1970's ISDT machine that became a permanent part of JAWA lore and still represents the classic style. The condition of this machine is a highly original un-restored machine that has never been apart. Every part on the machine is original and Accounted for, including the impossible to find chain cases. The frame number and the engine numbers are factory correct and original. It is 402 cc engine. The gearbox is so original to the machine. I am the second owner from new. It has a fantastic patina to it that can not be replicated and is a true historical document that should be preserved for the future. This machine has been in my collection for some time, is started on a regular basis, and occasionally ridden. When I purchased the bike, it had been sitting as a static display for some time in its original state. I set about doing a sympathetic re-commission of it by checking all of the major engine, transmission, and brakingcomponents for wear and safety. The gas tank was cleaned and fogged on a regular basis when not in use, and the original carburetor Ikov inspected, cleaned, and re-installed along with a new air filter. The tires on the front and rear are original to the machine and are in very good condition overall, with no dry rot evident, but please keep in mind they are 32 year old tires. The wheels are so original to the machine.
The seat is original and the upholstery is in almost new condition with no rips or tears.
The engine and transmission are in excellent interior condition due to the low mileage and absence of any type of abuse or harsh conditions throughout its life.
A complete cleaning and detailing was performed, and although detailing on. On original machine is never completed, the overall condition of the finishes is remarkable considering the age of the machine, and is commiserate with the low original mileage More pictures available. |
