Unique restoration opportunity, too many projects on the go so unfortunately must sell. Bought from my mates Uncle in 2003, the story goes that the bike was riden into his garage by his friend's son, who was in the forces. Unfortunately the son never returned from the Falklands conflict and the bike was given to the uncle by the father.
I was told it was used as a race bike and the engine was apparently done up not long before going into storage, however I can not verify this. The bores were then filled with oil, so the engine turns over freely quietly. However, over the years, bits and pieces have been taken off the bike as the Uncle had a vision of making it into a conventional road bike. I then bought it and have not touched it since ownership. The bike requires a full restoration, it does not run. P> |
